   Glantraeth History & Honours
Glantraeth FC was formed in 1984 and set up its base on land adjacent to the Glantraeth Restaurant.  The club entered the Anglesey league in Division Two and 1985/86 finished as runners-up. The following season Glantraeth were promoted to Division One and then a League title win in 1989/90 earned promotion to the Gwynedd League.
Over the next five years the Club enjoyed a good deal of success winning a number of trophies leading to another League win in 1993/94 and promotion to the Welsh Alliance.  In 1996/97 Glantraeth were crowned champions of the Welsh Alliance and won promotion to the Cymru Alliance, finishing 5th in their first two seasons.  Their best final placing came in 1999-2000 when they were runners up to promoted Oswestry Town but the following year slumped to 14th.
After consultation with local rivals Llangefni Town a merger was announced which saw the new club, known as Llangefni Glantraeth, replace both original clubs for the start of the2001-02 campaign with the newly formed club finishing 2nd behind Welshpool Town.  The plan was for the new club to play home games in Llangefni but after a season and apparent disagreements it was decided that a de-merger should occur and Glantraeth opted for demotion into the Welsh Alliance for the 2002-03 season, which they promptly won under the management of Bob Brodie.
Mr Brodie stepped down during the summer of 2003 and former Bangor City midfielder, and Cemaes Bay manager Paul Whelan took his place.  Glantraeth have since established a reputation as one of the league's most consistent performers by finishing fourth and second in the last two seasons.
The 2005-06 season was the most successful in the club's short history as they won the Cymru Alliance Championship for the first time after a superb "end of season" win at chief rivals Buckley.
