Llandrindod Wells FC History & Honours |
Llandrindod Wells FC was formed in 1883 and has competed in Mid Wales football for more than a hundred years. They were promoted to the Cymru Alliance in May 2014 after winning the Spar Mid Wales League title to bring to new high a recent run of success that began four years ago. In 2010 Llandrindod won the Emrys Morgan Cup and finished runners up in the Mid Wales League (south) and gained promotion to the Spar Mid Wales League Division Two. For that first season the club were content with a eighth place finish but in 2012-13 they again finished as runners up and were again promoted, this time to the Spar Mid Wales First Division. In 2013-14 Llandrindod won all sixteen league matches and were duly crowned champions of the Spar Mid Wales and promoted to the Cymru Alliance. The club had previously enjoyed a three year stint in the Cymru Alliance in the mid nineties but then returned to Mid Wales football. Also during the 1990s the club's most famous player Carl Robinson came through the ranks to enjoy a career which took in Wolverhampton Wanderers, Shrewsbury and 52 full Welsh Caps. |
