                     Lex X1  History & Honours

In the mid sixties a group of Wrexham solicitors began playing friendly fixtures, largely for social purposes.  After a while they opted to move into competitive football and joined the Welsh National League.
As a relatively young club Lex X1 have successful history which begins in 1975 with a Welsh National League Division Two Cup success.
Since this time the club had a League and Cup success in 1984 in the National League Division Two, and then repeated the feat in the Premier Division in 1985.
Lex led a nomadic existence playing home fixtures as far afield as Overton On Dee, Rhosnesni in Wrexham, The Brickfield and then Ty Gwyn.  Finally the club bought Wrexham's Stansty Park training ground off the town's main Mold Road roundabout.
During the eighties Lex were successful under manager Ross Sankey, winning an array of trophies including Welsh National League championships, League Cups, NEWFC Cup and the Presidents Cup.
In the 1990s the club moved into the newly formed Cymru Alliance and won the League Cup in 1991 and 1992.  The 1991 success was matched by winning the North east Wales Challenge and President's Cups.  More cup success followed in 1993 with the Welsh National League Premier Division Cup.
The nineties saw the club associated with former Brymbo manager Gareth Powell, winners of the Cymru Alliance League Cup at the first attempt, and staging home matches at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground.
Close to the end of the 2001-02 season Lex suffered a 12-0 mauling at Champions Welshpool and then had a sever points induction imposed for a breach of rules.
The club have a fine base at Stansty Park, both in terms of playing and training facilities and ample car parking.
