| Penycae History & Honours |
| Founded as recently as 1982 Penycae
entered the Welsh National League Fourth Division and were runners up
in their first season. Following a promotion they won the Third
Division title the following year . In both seasons they won the Horace
Wynne Cup. By the early nineties Penycae were regular members of the Welsh National League Premier Division and after three seasons in the mid table positions, they won the championship in 1993-94 and gained promotion to the Cymru Alliance, the second tier of Welsh domestic football. Four season followed, their highest finish being tenth 1995-96 but two years later, with the number of clubs being reduced, Penycae were relegated following a sixteenth place finish. The period from 2001 to 2004 was a consistent one for Penycae who finished second four seasons in a row in the WNL Premier Division. If the 2009-10 season was a great disappointment as the club finished 13th, the following year a complete turn around saw a second WNL title and promotion once again, a return to the Cymru Alliance. |
